Obear Construction has begun work on the Network Equipment Enclosure located in the basement of the Charlemont Town Hall. The room will house the electronics that form the core of the fiber-optic network.
The electrical work is next for completion. Obear Construction is scheduling this work, which will tie the power for the room that will house network equipment to a metered electrical subpanel in the basement and also install the air conditioning unit. The Emergency Management Department will be installing an emergency generator later this year for the town hall that will also provide backup power to the fiber-optic equipment.
