Information about the Charlemont Connect distribution network, sometimes called ‘Fiber to the Curb’. These are the main fiber-optic lines running from the network equipment room in the basement of the town hall and along most of the roads in town. The distribution network terminates at “taps” (called MSTs) located on utility poles near each serviceable house or structure.

Bid Deadline Extended to July 12 for Network Equipment Room

The bid deadline has been extended to July 12, 2019, at 2 PM for the construction of the Charlemont Municipal Fiber Network Network Equipment Enclosure in the basement of the town hall. Construction of the room includes the HVAC work and electrical work. A site visit is required. Please reach out to schedule a time. Local firms are encouraged to apply!

Bids Sought for Network Equipment Enclosure

The heart of the Charlemont Municipal Fiber Network will be the Network Equipment Enclosure in the basement of the town hall. Bids are being sought now for construction of the room including the HVAC work and the electrical work. There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 11 at 10 am at the town hall for all interested contractors. Local firms are encouraged to apply!
