A Municipal Fiber to the Home Network for Charlemont Massacusetts
Working with Whip City Fiber, Charlemont’s Internet Service Provider (ISP), preparations are underway to launch the subscription campaign in the new year coordinated with the distribution network build. Everyone that has expressed interest will be notified as soon as the campaign is publicly available.

With an ISP in place, Charlemont Connect is preparing the subscription campaign to sign up customers for service and drive the installation plan.

There are two warrant articles related to the municipal fiber network before voters to set up the accounting structure. In preparation for this meeting, you will find, attached, an overview of the status of the network and an expanded proforma budget for network operations.
Comments closedThere will be two broadband warrant articles before voters at Charlemont’s Special Town Meeting on Saturday, November 14th at 6 PM at Hawlemont Regional Elementary School. The first will be to form an Enterprise Fund for the municipal fiber network operations and the second is a placeholder operating budget for the service for fiscal year 2021. Neither warrant article will have an impact on the town tax rate.
