In a Friday kick-off meeting with owner’s project manager, Westfield Gas & Electric (WG&E), Charlemont’s distribution contractor, TriWire announced construction will begin tomorrow, February 1st! Starting in areas where the utility remediation is complete, network construction in the village area aims to complete ahead of the resumption of traffic calming work this spring.
The Highway and Police Departments, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Town Administrator, and the Select Board are pulling together with WG&E and Charlemont’s Broadband Committee to support this important construction push by TriWire. A special thanks to volunteers Trevor Mackie and Doug White for clearing the accumulated snow around the construction materials!
