The Charlemont Broadband Committee and local residents have asked the Select Board to request our free high-speed public access wifi ‘hotspot’ for use during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Select Board has asked that the Hawlemont School be considered as the Charlemont location.
At their Monday evening meeting, the Board asked town volunteer, Trevor Mackie, to work with the school and with hotspot provider, and Charlemont broadband partner, Westfield Gas & Electric (WG&E). WG&E said they hope to have all Wireless Access Points (WAPs) installed for use by May 8th.
