Did you support Charlemont’s initial WiredWest effort to bring fiber to town with a $49 pre-subscription? If so, thank you! This early effort helped to estimate the expected take rate for the municipal fiber network and led to a $960,000 EOHED grant for network construction. Since Charlemont has selected Westfield Gas & Electric as our Internet Service Provider (ISP), WiredWest has been returning these deposits with interest to pre-subscribers from town.
There are 68 people in Charlemont that have not yet requested a refund. Each subscriber has been contacted by WiredWest either by email or postal mail reminding them to request a refund to the contact information provided on the pre-subscription form. WiredWest will turn these refunds over to the state on February 1, 2022.
If you didn’t receive your refund and aren’t sure of the contact information you used on the pre-subscription form, contact Charlemont Connect. In cases where the payment was made by someone other than the subscriber, every effort has been made to return the refund to the individual or organization that made the payment.
