Charlemont is celebrating the efficiency and accuracy of a dedicated splicer, committed to the municipal fiber network project throughout the splicing phase! West Charlemont is complete and splicing has begun in the area north of the village center!
Testing continues in East Charlemont and will move to West Charlemont as soon as this is complete. Every effort is being explored to accelerate the testing progress in the remaining fiber service areas. Following testing, there is a 2-3 week period of validation and remediation before each area is released for service.
FSA 03, north of the village center, is currently blocked on some make-ready work associated with a number of National Grid pole relocations on Mountain Road. Once this utility work is complete, the construction of this final fiber service area and the network can be wrapped up.
