Eight town-owned utility poles have been installed along the west end of Tower Road! Working through an inter-governmental agreement with Westfield Gas and Electric, these poles will be used to connect to existing utility lines and avoid an expensive railroad crossing!
Tree trimming work is still needed before this make-ready project is complete and these poles are ready for the municipal fiber.
There are two other path preparation projects on track to be completed this summer; the Long Bridge railroad crossing and the Warner Hill Rd. conduit installation. Should Verizon accelerate their make-ready timeline and come in ahead of schedule, Charlemont is working hard to be ready to build out the distribution network!
