Charlemont has received notification from Verizon that seven of our seventeen applications are complete! When the remaining ten applications are returned and the make-ready work is inspected, the construction can begin on our distribution network.
Verizon’s make-ready schedule defines the overall project timeline. Other required path-preparation projects are expected to be complete this fall to be ready if Verizon should finish these applications earlier than expected. The path preparation is needed only for areas where following the existing utility path is not possible or not cost-effective. If a Charlemont road is not on the list of path prep projects, this means it’s ready for distribution fiber as soon as the utility make-ready is complete.
