Because Verizon make-ready continues to define our overall project timeline, progress on this work directly impacts when Charlemont can begin to offer municipal fiber service. This week Verizon is reporting a big jump in the percentage complete on multiple applications.
While no new applications have been fully completed this week and these are self-reported estimates of Verizon progress, it’s worth celebrating this report! Verizon’s efforts to reduce their make-ready timeline is the single most effective way to speed up the Charlemont build-out. Our partners, Westfield Gas & Electric, are working with Verizon to confirm that all work has been completed to the required standard for moving ahead with the distribution network.
