Whip City Fiber (WCF), powered by our partner Westfield Gas and Electric (WG&E), has been selected as the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for Charlemont’s municipal fiber network! With an ISP in place, Charlemont Connect is preparing the subscription campaign to sign up customers for service and drive the installation plan.
The ISP will provide internet service and perform customer-facing functions like billing and technical support. Founded to serve the city of Westfield as an ISP for their municipal fiber network, WCF is providing these services through intergovernmental agreements to other municipalities to provide economies of scale with the goal of reducing costs and increasing efficiency for all participants. Many of our neighboring hilltowns have also selected WCF as the service provider for their municipal fiber networks.
