The fourth fiber service area, FSA 02, comprising all of Charlemont west of Zoar Outdoor, began construction last week hanging strand on Route 2 and Legate Hill Rd! Splicing has begun in FSA 05, the second fiber service area scheduled for service. This area consists of the village west of the Federated Church, through Avery Brook Road and the Red Rose motel. Strand is the first phase and splicing is the fourth phase of the six phases needed for distribution network construction in each FSA.
FSA 01, the first fiber service area is in the validation phase and is expected to begin serving customers in July. FSA 04, East Charlemont, is finishing the third phase, MST placement. The project remains on schedule and on budget. Charlemont’s broadband team continues to make every effort to accelerate the timeline for service to all areas of town.
