The distribution network construction continues across three fiber service areas (FSAs). FSA 01 is nearing completion with splicing continuing intermittently as a technician is available. FSA 05 has strand and fiber installed throughout most of the area and will continue with the installation of MSTs. FSA 04 has strand in many areas and fiber in some locations.
Each FSA goes through six sequential steps during our distribution network construction before installations can begin: attach strand, hang fiber, place MSTs, splice all of the fiber-optic cables together, test each fiber, and validate the whole FSA. There is an update each weekday on both Charlemont Connect and the town of Charlemont website that indicates where crews will be working and what work will be performed.
