In an effort to connect as many people as possible to the municipal fiber service as soon as possible, Whip City Fiber agreed to release FSA 02, FSA 03, and FSA 04 in parallel with the final testing and validation. Charlemont celebrates the availability of service to these locations!
West Charlemont testing and remediation are expected to wrap up today, Friday, April 29, and teams will move into North Charlemont at the end of the day and into next week to complete this work.
Testing, remediation, and validation continue alongside service installations. About thirty homes, apartments, and businesses have been flagged for retesting and possible remediation. These locations may experience a window of downtime when these tests or needed fixes are in progress. In some cases, installations have been delayed to anticipate these fixes and in other circumstances, the resident has agreed to accept this service disruption in order to be connected prior to final testing.
