Now that service is available in all areas of town, Charlemont has proactively doubled the backhaul capacity of the municipal network! This will also ensure that there will be plenty of extra capacity as summer residents return and seasonal businesses increase their usage. Increasing the municipal network’s connection to the broader internet will ensure continued exceptional performance in the busy months ahead.

West Charlemont testing and remediation are expected to wrap up today, Friday, April 29, and teams will move into North Charlemont at the end of the day and into next week to complete this work.

With testing resources dedicated exclusively to Charlemont to get the work wrapped up, TriWire/ ITG continues to test the remaining network and remediate issues identified.

In an effort to accelerate the connections for customers in this fiber service area, Whip City Fiber will begin installations while also validating the network testing and will remediate any issues identified by validation prior to a formal release to the town.

Validation typically takes 1-3 weeks to complete and is the final step before a fiber service area is released for installations!
